Who is Renattoni? The company is named
after Renato, a wonderful little boy whose entire life has been
spent wearing clothing made of soft, organic fibers, harvested and
knit in his native Peru. Renattoni's family has been making children's
clothing for Renattoni and cousins from these unique fibers for
decades. And now, your babies and children can enjoy these soft,
expertly-crafted clothes as well.
A tale of Three Sisters
Renattoni's mother and her two
sisters have been designing and knitting children's clothing since
they were children. Initially as a hobby for themselves, later
for their own children to wear as each sister was busy pursuing
independent careers as an architect, an accountant and a food
engineer. Finally in 2001 the idea was born to turn the family
'hobby' and wealth of experience into a real business. A business
focused on clothing for babies and children up to age 6 that features
a range of hues and patterns fitting today's modern lifestyles
and tastes but incorporating high quality traditional craftsmanship
and exceptional, hard-to-find, materials like Peruvian pima cotton,
baby alpaca, silk and linen.
Renattoni's Grandmother, The Guiding Hand
Renattoni's
grandmother, is the ultimate inspiration - it's because of her
that these sisters have so many wonderful memories surrounding
the clothes they wore when young. And today she is the "chief
consultant" advising on knitting techniques and designs. Thanks
for everything, Mom.
